American Friendships
1.) Some reasons that Americans can be perceived as superficial friends are the fact that we tend to be more independent; we don't like to rely on others because it shows weakness; we don't ask for favors often because we feel obligated to perform assistance in the future; and Americans have very busy lifestyles. Because of these reasons Americans can't and choose not to spend as much quality time with other people and therefore we seem as superficial friends to other cultures.
