1. Having an emic perspective is beneficial because you get all the background information on the subject, you understand the purpose for the event and what it means to your culture. It helps to have an etic perspective because it helps you compare it to other cultures, and helps explains certain events within the culture. I think these two perspectives are important because they help to truly understand the nature of one's culture from a variety of views and opinnions.
2. These rules exist so that people understand what the ethnographer is doing in his observation, so you know the true facts about that culture, and so that the ethnographer doesn't show any bias in viewing the culture.
